When in Rome, do as the Romans do!

Rome, Italy

There is a famous saying here in Rome, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do,” and right now the Romans are running around town like Ben Hur in his chariot at Circo Massimo searching to find the best bargain. Why is that? Because in Rome sales have started and its time to grab a great piece of art to add to the Fashionista Collection.

Today being the first day of sales or as the Italians call it “Saldi.” I thought I would be daring and hit the mall on my way home from work. I have to let you know that I am mesmerized by the latest styles of dresses and I can not stop searching for them every time I go into a store. Now since I am still very new to dresses, I’m still learning how to pick them out. Most importantly I am still learning on how to choose which ones look nice on me. I have to say that this is a challenge for me but I do love a good challenge.

Through my daily dosage of browsing blogs, fashion sites, and magazines, I have come across the most beautiful dresses. Some of which are beautiful because of their simplicity and other that are glamorous because of their pure detail. I do know that I am in Love with Chiffon. I adore 50′s and 60′s style dresses like the shift dress, the pencil dress and the list goes on. Each one makes you feel chic and glamorous, like you are part of an era that is known to everyone as “La Dolce Vita.”

Here is one of the dresses I purchased at Pull & Bear for €12.99, a very simple dress but I can not wait to match it up with a pair of divine heels:

To Brogue or Not To Brogue

Rome, Italy

As I was walking back to work on Via del Tritone towards Piazza Barberini, I came across these cute little gray and black brogues by an Italian brand called Greta. They were on sale for €24.50 and had seen them before for much more so I thought the price was a bargain. As you will soon come to find out I am a bit of a shoeaholic and I usually tend to buy shoes that have a heel or a wedge in order to give my 5’2 height a boost. But lately I discovered the art of flats.

Today’s flat is the brogue. I remember when I was a little kid my Mom used to dress me up in those black and white Hush Puppies. Well, it seems that they have made a come back! And designers have come out with some really creative ones from the original in black and white to monocolor ones as well as a variety of designs.

The sweetest thing about these shoes is that they make whatever you wear adorable. Great for both the office and a stroll around town. They might not be appealing right away, but once you find the right ones… you are going to Love them!

Giuseppe Zanotti… A Girl’s New Bestfriend!

Rome, Italy

Now that the New Year has commenced it is time to make some brand new changes. 2012 I believe is a year to be daring and true to yourself by taking whatever dreams are in the closet out and putting them on like a brand new pair of shoes that have never been worn before because you thought they were just not you.

On that note I would like to start off this new blog of mine about a pair of shoes that I came across a little while back. Oh let me tell you, I could not keep my eyes off of these daring and breathtaking turquoise wedges. These amazingly gorgeous shoes are by Giuseppe Zanotti, an Italian shoe designer, who clearly has a talent for creating the most magnificent designs.  I hadn’t heard of this designer before, so I decided to do some research. As I was browsing his website, http://www.giuseppezanottidesign.com/,  I came across the most fabulous designed shoes that I had ever seen. And as I kept browsing online I then saw the price tag on each pair of shoes and that great Big Smile I had on my face turned into a Great Big Frown. Unfortunately I’m on a tight budget and a pair of exquisite €600.00 Zanotti shoes is just out of my league. That however did not stop me.

Day 1: I began to search everywhere online for those exact replicas. What did I find? Nothing!

Day 2: I continued my tiresome search online, and finally EUREKA! I found an exact replica on http://www.amazon.co.uk. I could not believe my eyes. The price tag on these lovely babies… £32.00! Yes, that’s right!!!! I then took the next natural step that any shoe lover what do and I bought them.

It has now been about a couple of months since I bought my red wedges and have started to see many more sites selling Giuseppe Zanotti replicas. This is a must have in your collection of oh so fabulous shoes!

Check out the following sites for other oh so delicious varieties of Giuseppe Zanotti replica shoes:

If you come across other sites with these fab wedges, please drop me a comment with the link. That would be most appreciated! ;)
